The Story Behind NeverMiss
We didn't set out to build an app.
For years, Diane read to our eight grandchildren over FaceTime — kids spread across Maryland, Ohio, and the west coast of Florida, each one holding up their copy of the same book, pages turning at the wrong time, younger ones losing their place. It was cumbersome. But Diane made it work, because that's what she does.
I watched from my recliner. I watched her ask the questions that pulled memories out of children. I watched our grandchildren grow up really knowing their grandmother — across three states, through a phone screen, week after week. And somewhere along the way, I realized my relationship with the kids was growing stronger too. I was leaning in. I was part of it. The book was the excuse. The connection was the point.
I thought: there has to be a better way to do this. There wasn't. So we built one.
"Reading is the vehicle. Relationship is the destination."
